When it comes to camera and lens accessories, the sky’s the limit. DIY lens cap holders and personalized straps so 2012, but you may want to invest in these white Vello lens hoods to match your high-end Canon L lenses.

White telephoto lenses are a staple among the paparazzi and during sporting events. I remember the very first time I saw one. At first, I thought the photographer painted his lens white for some reason. I later found out that the lens came in that color to reduce heat absorption while shooting. It makes sense of course, especially since it can also reduce barrel distortion as well.

I’m not too nitpicky when it comes to color, but a white lens hood to match those white telephoto lenses sure sounds like something I would go for. I’ve never bothered purchasing one for myself because my black ones work just fine, but it just looks good. If it looks good, someone’s going to buy it. If you’re that someone, head on over to B&H to purchase a lens hood for these lenses:

  • Vello LHC-ET87W White Lens Hood for Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II Lens
  • Vello LHC-ET74W White Lens Hood for Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L (and IS) Lens
  • Vello ET-86W White Lens Hood for Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS (orig.)

As you can see, these hoods are compatible with Canon’s lineup of 70-200mm lenses. It functions just like Canon’s official lens hoods: the matte finish on the inside prevents unwanted lens flare from showing up in your shots.
