The Nokia Lumia 1020 Smartphone Shoots 41MP RAW Images
Aesthetically, the Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone is beautiful. One can also experience the quality of the PureView technology, Optical Image Stabilization, 41-megapixel camera, and the outstanding zoom features. You can take stunning pictures and the Nokia Rich Recording technology makes it possible to capture sharp HD videos accompanied by crisp movie quality free sound.
The 1020 comes in a completely sealed unibody design, and does not have a removable battery or microSD card storage. While this may put off some avid photographers who like loads of storage and large photo files, this does not detract from the outstanding media capability of the 1020.
It is also important, but not vital to note that the Lumia 1020′s 41-megapixel camera does not actually shoot 41-megapixel pictures. Its Pro Cam app actually generates 5-megapixel photos, but saves in high-resolution mode. Evidence of this is if you crop, your image does not lose crucial detail.
The designers at Nokia seem to be targeting the professional photographer with the Lumia 1020 Smartphone. It sports a 4.5 inch AMOLED display and a Zeiss lens which never disappoints, in front of the touted 41MP imaging sensor. With shooting horsepower like this, even neophyte photographers can create stunningly detailed photos with a gadget this juiced up.
One notable feature that should have special mention is something that will whet the appetite of advanced shutterbugs. The Lumia 1020 has a manual shutter speed, fantastic for some amount of creativity. While the aperture is stationary at f2.2, the ISO is changeable, offering some amount of manipulation for exposure. Manual white balance and other features all add up to one Smartphone with a camera that packs a creative punch in the right hands. In fact some professional photographers have put this through the gauntlet already, shooting with it in wedding gigs as well as in documentaries.
