An Engagement Ring, A Couple in Love and A Stunning Ice Cave: Photos of a Beautiful Marriage Proposal in Iceland
Just when you thought you have seen everything there has to do with outlandish and out-of-this-world marriage proposals, you come across something totally unexpected. A Reddit user who goes by the moniker VolcanosMeltMeDown not too long ago took a trip to a stunning ice cave close to the Skaftafell glacier in Iceland with her boyfriend in tow. Little did she know that an epic romantic surprise was awaiting her in that journey.
Skaftafell is a preservation site in Öræfi, found in southeast Iceland. It was formerly a manor farm as well as a national park, however as of late, has been a part of Vatnajökull National Park since its institution in 2008.The landscape is akin to the Alps, but was formed in many centuries by various influences of fire from volcanic eruptions and water from the glaciers Skeiðarájökull and Skaftafellsjökul), as well as the rivers Skeiðará, Morsá und Skaftafellsá.
According to VolcanosMeltMeDown who went back to the US after taking residence in Iceland for a year, their initial visit to the area was in January. Unfortunately, they were prevented from entering the cave due to the swelling river. On their next visit came the big surprise. VolcanosMeltMeDown’s boyfriend pulled the bombshell as he took out a ring and asked the million dollar question.
Suffice it to say that the splendid and awesome insides of the ice cave made the perfect backdrop for the romantic event. What else could the outcome be? VolcanosMeltMeDown and her boyfriend both share a passion for photography, and that certainly helped as they were able to document the event very sufficiently with both their cameras.
As expected, the answer to the question was a resounding yes! This story is perhaps going to send many guys’ minds spinning with how to top this one-of-a-kind marriage proposal.
