Landscape photographer Marc Adamus travels practically non-stop around the world during the entire year. The beauty and artistry of his photographs emanate from a talent and sensitivity to see the many moods of nature as well as a passion for the outdoors. This is readily apparent in Adamus’ work, which has quite a following, resulting in the interest of many global publications.

Adamus’ style is distinct and his penchant for capturing amazing light and momentary atmospheric conditions lends his portfolio a sense of the grandiose. His trademark images are the unique moments that create and characterize the magic and power of the wilderness.

Adamus has been known to spend months in the landscape as he shoots while braving the often harsh outdoors. Adamus has been regarded as one of the most talented landscape artists alive today. In his own words, he tries to encapsulate what he and his work is all about:

“I have been a full-time professional landscape photographer for many years now. I am based in Oregon, USA, but spend most of my year out in the field, moving around all over the place and chasing the light. My adventurous style of photography is one best defined by bold, dramatic imagery that stems from my love of unusual weather and getting far off the beaten path. My work has appeared in over a hundred different publications around the globe including National Geographic, Digital Photographer, Digital Photo Pro, Popular Photography, Readers Digest and Sierra Club, among others, and has been on the cover of Outdoor Photographer more than a dozen times.

I personally conduct many workshops and tours each year in a variety of places, which I thoroughly enjoy doing. I love showing people the wonders of nature I have found and sharing with them the special relationship photography can have with all around us. My business in photography as well as all my life is designed around the principle and everlasting desire to get ‘out there’ as much as I possibly can, to the tune of about 300 days per year. You won’t find me on Facebook, blogs, Google+, Twitter, forums or any other form of social media I haven’t heard of yet that will be all the rage tomorrow. I am simply too busy when I have to be near a computer, and I enjoy some peace and quiet away from it all the rest of the time far too much. I’ll apologize in advance.”

The saying that a picture is worth more than thousand words would perhaps do the most justice to describe Adamus work, which you can view here.

Patricia Ramos the author

I am a freelance photographer who is no stranger to smudged lenses, long hours in front of the computer, heavy camera bags (and the back aches that ensued) and missing lens caps. If you know what I'm talking about, you probably have as much love and passion for photography as I do.
