Priceless Photo Series of Siblings Interacting with Farm Animals
Russian photographer Elena Shumilova acquired her first camera not too long ago in 2012, but unlike most of us, exhibited an uncommon talent as most anyone can see in her Flickr and 500px profiles. Her amazing photographs are breathtaking, both technically and in substance. She is unquestionably talented behind the camera, but her two boys deserve just as much credit, providing themselves as exceptional subjects.
The siblings are amazingly at ease and in their element as they interact with their cat, duckling, rabbit friends and adorable dog, all captured while at home in their rustic environment. Their gifted mother and artist shoots some heartwarming photography that can only be likened to images from a wholesome Disney movie.
“I largely trust my intuition and inspiration when I compose photos. I get inspired mainly by my desire to express something I feel, though I usually cannot tell exactly what that is” Shumilova recently said in an interview. There is no denying that her two young boys have a special way of connecting with animals, which they have an abundance of on their farm.
It is a refreshing collection of pictures with lots of country imagery and natural outdoor settings. The changing seasons also have a prominent role in the collection, lending their multitude of textures and hues as the pictures go from winter, spring, summer and fall. “When shooting I prefer to use natural light – both inside and outside. I love all sorts of light conditions – street lights, candle light, fog, smoke, rain and snow – everything that gives visual and emotional depth to the image,” shared Shumilova.
The Russian mother’s gear includes a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera and a 135mm lens. As a consummate photographer and doting mom, her camera is a constant companion as she shoots each day, processing the images during the evening.
