Many people actually take their zodiac signs seriously, and derive a lot of direction from these. Divination forms a good part of people’s everyday compass, so it is not strange to find various themed creations that are based on astrology and zodiac signs. Here is such an example, blending the world of astrology and fashion. It is the 2015 Splash Calendar entitled Zodiac Signs.
The calendar delves into the prominent characteristics that accompany each zodiac sign. As one goes through the 12 pages, the calendar creatively merges styles and silhouettes, classic fabrics and design technics with a keen sense and flair for fashion to visually represent each of the signs.
From Aquarius to Capricorn, every style direction complements well with the signs, be it an air, water, fire or earth sign, and identifies the traits connected with it. This collection which is a limited edition is numbered at only 500 pieces and will be given as presents to the region’s VIPs, media as well as opinion makers.
The man behind this is Indian fashion and advertising photographer Tejal Patni, who has been the creative force behind beautiful themes for Splash’s yearly fashion calendar. Patni makes brilliant use of color to do one of two things. Place the model and the background in juxtaposed contrast, or blend the two together in a dreamlike, and oftentimes, exquisite portrait.
A few of the themes in previous years have been around a single color, sci-fi fiction or practically a whole story unfolding through the photos. The Zodiac symbols which were chosen for this year are an olden form of astrology but they still hold interest for modern artists and philosophers to interpret fresh and thrilling situations, and Patni is one such person. His take on the zodiac signs is one immersed in fashion, luxury, beauty in addition to the excessive and lavish.
Patni’s work as a fashion photographer embodies exceedingly futuristic themes, and the Dubai-based photographer uses lively color schemes, set in contemporary digital sets.
