This series of travel pictures were shot by photographer and entrepreneur Alex Strohl. Strohl is a Madrid-born, French photographer and scours the world to shoot images with his inimitable style of photography. Among Strohl’s many accomplishments was his crucial role in organizing and creating content for the highly effective Alberta 1×1 campaign for Travel Alberta and the Canadian Tourism Commission.
Likewise, Strohl’s mobile photography work has been showcased in prominent publications such as Forbes, Vanity Fair and Buzzfeed. The images below were taken in various locations such as Canada, Norway, Montana and Nevada. In Canada he shot some magnificent images of the Tonquin Valley in Alberta. Spanning 9.98 million square kilometres in total, Canada is the world’s second-largest nation by total area as well as the fourth-largest country by land area. Its shared border with the United States forms the world’s longest land border.
The Fjords of Norway also proved to be an equally spectacular subject for Strohl. The country has a common long eastern border with Sweden and is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak Strait to the south, with Denmark on the opposite side. Norway has a very long coastline that faces the Barents Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean.
The Glacier National Park, Montana provided some rugged scenery that is truly typical Americana. Montana’s name comes from the Spanish word montaña or mountain, and indeed many mountainous panoramas can be seen in Strohl’s pictures. There is a total of 77 named ranges that are part of the Rocky Mountains.
Finally, Nevada provided some truly rustic scenery as Strohl roamed the snow covered streets of a ghost town presumably from the days of the gold rush. Nevada is mostly desert and semiarid, most of it located within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are situated inside the Mojave Desert, while the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe are found on the western edge.
Strohl’s collective works in this collection are nothing short of grandiose, as he depicts vast expanses of landscape from these four locations. Among his corporate clients are Land Rover, Contiki and Apple.
