“The earth has music for those who listen.” Words of wisdom once written by the philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist, George Santayana. Nature definitely has still much to offer as far as aesthetic is concerned. Its beauty is never-ending, presenting new visuals to those who seek its splendor and magnificence. Photographer Alvar Astúlez shot some of the most breathtaking nature photography to prove this.
His pastoral images of various rural areas will leave you spellbound, longing for a chance to visit these exquisite locations. His photos feature nothing fancy nor posses any gimmickry. They are lovely in their simplicity as he features imagery like a wooded area, a grassy field, a misty covered patch of land, or a solitary animal roaming freely in its element.
Whether shot against a dusk or dawn backdrop, either time of the day adds to creating seemingly magical lights and hues that drape each photograph. Apparently Astúlez is an extremely patient man, willing to wait it out for the perfect moment.
He is a master at capturing beautiful, astonishing and effervescent sceneries and landscapes created by the greatest artist there is, nature itself. These are certainly among the most wonderful and eye-catching pictures of the outdoors.
The martyred Ann Frank wrote some of the most eloquent words about nature. We quote her own words from The Diary of a Young Girl.
“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.
As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”
Astúlez’ work certainly embodies the spirit in which these words were written. Enjoy his talent for capturing the single greatest subject you could possible photograph.
